Thunder Bay police Redwood Alliance ChurchTHUNDER BAY – Crime – Thunder Bay Police have provided additional details to some of the incidents they dealt with over the weekend. Daily Crime Reports for April 6, April 7, and April 8th included several assaults.

Thunder Bay Police report on several incidents. including a report of a mass fight, a stabbing at a house party, many of the incidents police handled over the weekend involved the over consumption of alcohol.

Stabbing on the Georgina Bay Area Bike Path

Just after 12:30 a.m. on April 6th, 2013, Thunder Bay Police received numerous calls about a fight involving approximately 20 people on the bike path behind the residences in 900 block of Georgina Bay.

When officers arrived they located a male who had been assaulted and was unconscious on the ground. The male had also been stabbed. Ambulance transported the 20 year old male victim to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center. The male has since been released from the hospital.

Police are looking to identify the five males responsible for the assault. They are described as two older Native Canadian males and three teenaged Native Canadian males all wearing dark clothing.

Stabbing in a Northside Residence

The Thunder Bay Police responded to a Lawrence Avenue residence for a report of a stabbing just before 2:00 a.m. on April 6th, 2013.

The 21 year old male victim was attempting to have three unwanted party guests leave the residence when a altercation began. In the process the victim was stabbed and the suspects left the residence on foot. The victim was transported to the hospital for medical attention. He has since been released from the hospital.

At 3:30 a.m. on the same date, the police observed the male responsible for the stabbing on the corner of Dawson Street and High Street. He was arrested without incident and escorted to the police station. He made a court appearance and has been remanded to a youth facility.

A 17 year old male has been charged with:
– Aggravated Assault
– Breach of Probation X3

Investigation continues.

Male Charged with Assault with a Weapon and Threats

Just after midnight on April 7th, 2013, Thunder Bay Police attended a residence in the 200 block of Manitou Street for a weapons call involving a knife.

When officers arrived they entered the residence with several people inside. They observed a 45 year old female with a bleeding hand. It is alleged that an argument broke out between the victim and a male in the residence. The male had threatened the female with a knife and she grabbed a beer bottle, broke it and in the process cut her finger.

A 30 year old male was arrested without incident and escorted to the Thunder Bay Police Station. He has been remanded to the District Jail.

He was charged with:
– Assault with a Weapon
– Uttering Threats
