THUNDER BAY – Memo Cuba is helping the world from Thunder Bay. Many people are likely not fully aware of how much positive global change happens from Thunder Bay Ontario. Through many groups, and often coordinated under the umbrella of the Global Conscience Circle under the stewardship of Dr. Doug Thom, our city ‘punches above its weight’ in helping.
MEMO between a rock and a hard place
Jerome Harvey reports, “As you know MEMO has been between a rock and a hard place loosing our city warehousing soon, and not having authorization from Cuba for shipping. However it appears God had it worked out. He just didn’t tell us!”
“In El Salvador a Christian organization just finished building a lovely brand new hospital in a needy area of the city. However they do not have the resources to furnish it. MEMO has the resources but no place to send them. Though in the very earliest stages its seems like a good fit.”
I wanted to let you know right from the beginning so you can continue to pray that we all will have wisdom to make this happen to bring Glory to the Name of Jesus! I will try and keep you up to date on what is happening. “We do not have money for the shipping which we are responsible for. Next miracle please, please!” concludes Harvey.
Global Conscience Circle – Thunder Bay’s International Arm
The Global Conscience Circle operates as an umbrella organization from its Thunder Bay Headquarters in the Chapples Building in the Fort William Business District. The office space is donated to the GCC by the Larizzo family. Mike Larizzo attended Lakehead University, and Professor Doug Thom was one of his instructors.
The two formed a friendship, and that has built to a mutually beneficial business alliance.
While the Global Conscience Circle helps around the world, there are also efforts from members of the circle to help right here in Thunder Bay and in Northwestern Ontario too.
In many ways the GCC is the unofficial International Department of Foreign Relations for the City of Thunder Bay
