Lakehead University Sault Ste MarieSAULT STE MARIE – Crime – Sault Ste Marie Police report on crimes in their community on a daily basis with two reports daily. This method of reporting ensures that people in the community and their police service are more connected.

On March 21st at 11:15 AM Patrol Officers were called to Station Mall for a shoplifter. Officers arrested and charged Michel Koussaye, age 23 of 549 Cathcart St. with Theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged he stole a baseball hat from Lids. Officers learned that the male was also wanted for Failing to Attend Court. He will now appear in court on April 29th.

On March 21st a 14 year old male was arrested and charged with Breach of Probation this morning. He breached his probation when he failed to attend at school. He will now appear in court on April 30th.

On March 21st Police Officers arrested and charged Thomas Edwards, aged 23 of 26 Abbott St with Possession of Stolen Property. Officers had learned that Edwards was in possession of  a stolen guitar. He will appear in court April 29th.

On March 19, 2013 a male subject, age 38 failed to abide by a court order instructing him to be in his residence unless accompanied by his surety.  The court order was as a result of a domestic related incident. The accused turned himself in at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and will appear in bail court March 22, 2013 at 10:00am.

On March 21, 2013 at approximately 2:45 PM two males attended at a residence in the area of Railroad Avenue.

As the homeowner open the door one of the males grabbed the resident forcing him back into the residence.  Upon entering the two accused made threatening remarks indicating that they had a gun and knife on their person.

The victim and his friends were threatened with violence if they did not comply with the culprit’s wishes. Taken in the robbery was video equipment and Canadian currency. The two accused left and were later located at a Gore Street address hiding in the attic. Arrested are: Trevor George Seaton, age 27 of 1572 Wellington Street East. Seaton stands charged with robbery with violence, threatening X 2 and a charge of theft under $5000.00 resulting from a theft at a Macs Mart on March 6, 2013.

The accused will appear in bail court on March 22, 2013 at 10:00 AM. The second male Jayme Ryan Bellerose age 27 of 28 Manitou Drive is charged with robbery with violence, threatening X 2 and breach of probation. The accused will appear in bail court on March 22, 2013 at 10:00 AM.

On March 22, 2013 at approximately 3:30 PM police were dispatched to an assistance call on Grace Street regarding possible narcotics at the residence. On attending two persons were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance X 3. Justin Bissonette age 31 of 26 Grace Street will appear in court on April 29, 2013 at 9:00 AM. The second accused, Rebecca Lynn Gray-Stone age 19 of 26 Grace Street will appear in court April 29, 2013 at 9:00 AM.
