THUNDER BAY – Business – Renco Foods will open on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 9AM, in the Centennial Square. The Downtown Fort William Business District has been without a grocery store for the past quarter since Quality Market closed in the fall.
Renco Foods Set to Open February 6th
The impact on the people in the downtown core has been difficult, first in reducing overall traffic into the area, and over the Christmas Shopping Season, there was a noted reduction in the number of people arriving in the area.
Renco Foods planned opening has many in the area quite excited. Several residents in the area have stated that with the grocery store re-opening in the downtown business district it will save them money and time – time spent travelling or money on transportation.
The downtown south core is seeing a number of new businesses opening, as well as a core base of government employees working in the area. As the area continues to develop, many business owners are hopeful that the new Provincial Court House will also offer a huge boost to the business district.
New Business in the Downtown Fort William Core
There have been several new businesses locating in the Fort William core. Unveiled Bridal Boutique opened this fall at 504 Victoria Ave. East. Youth Centres Thunder Bay opened in the fall at 711 Victoria Ave East, Volare Pizza, and The Blue Door Bistro are also new businesses in the area.
For potential entrepreneurs, there are many opportunities in the region. All it takes is a tour of the area to see that business opportunities are present in the core.
