Disaster relief fundTHUNDER BAY – Volunteer Thunder Bay Bottle Drive – “Save those holiday bottles for another Bottle Drive on January 26, 2013”. On Saturday October 20th 2012; 3017 beer bottles, 492 cans, and 1039 Wine & Spirits Bottles were collected. This effort raised $517.90 for Flood Disaster Relief.

Volunteer Thunder Bay is hoping to top that total in their first effort for 2013. You can help. You are invited to donate all or a portion of your empty bottles (or cash), with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Thunder Bay & Area Disaster Relief Fund.

The Disaster Relief efforts are continuing. Many of our residents are still not whole after the flood, and while the flood recovery is not topping the headlines, that does not mean the need is over.

We need volunteers: Drivers and walkers are needed on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to go to neighbourhoods and canvas for their empties. There are opportunities to drop off your bottles or cash donations early too.

There is an online form you can submit directly to Volunteer Thunder Bay to get involved and help!
