THUNDER BAY – Crime News – A stabbing on George Street has led to charges. Thunder Bay Police responded to a stabbing on George Street in the early evening hours on January 8th. Two males were reportedly engaged in an altercation. Police report “When officers arrived they located a 31 year old male on the ground outside the Thunder Bay Shelter House who was bleeding from stab wounds. A 34 year old male was located inside the vestibule of the Shelter House who was also bleeding”.
The 34 year old male was uncooperative with police and was being handcuffed when the 31 year old male also became conformational with officers and was subsequently handcuffed.
Both suspects were taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center by ambulance to receive medical attention. The 34 year old male was placed under arrest and escorted to the police station after being discharged by the hospital. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Breach of Probation.
The 31 year old victim remains in hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The two suspects are related to each other, and alcohol was a factor in this incident.
