THUNDER BAY – Crime News – The Thunder Bay Police Criminal Investigation Branch are currently investigating an incident involving a suspicious death and a serious assault.
A 911 call was received from the Court Street Safeway store just after 7:00PM on December 29th, 2012 stating that the homeowner of a residence came home to find people unconscious in the house. When officers arrived at the residence located at 245 Villa Street, they located two people inside the house that had been seriously assaulted.
A 25 year old male that was located in the residence did not have vital signs when officers arrived. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is still to be determined and the next of kin have not been notified. Witnesses reported that EMS personnel were attempting CPR on the individual in an effort to preserve life.
A 23 year old male was also located in the residence with serious life threatening injuries. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
The individuals involved are known to the homeowner and alcohol was a factor in this incident. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Branch are continuing to investigate.
