Bottle Drive for Flood Relief

THUNDER BAY – Volunteer Thunder Bay and The Beer Store have partnered up for the Disaster Relief Fund by holding a good old fashion bottle drive. They are asking people to donate their empty glass bottles on October 20th instead of taking cash for them at local Beer stores across the city.

All proceeds donated will go directly to the Thunder Bay and Area Disaster Relief Fund and they are even offering to pick up empties as an incentive to have people donate.

“It’s a great idea and we have been getting lots of fantastic feedback but people stepping up to volunteer is on the low side,” said Deborah Poole-Hofmann from Volunteer Thunder Bay.

They are also asking for volunteers to sign up on October 20th between 10AM and 4PM to act as drivers and walkers going door to door asking for empty bottles.

Anyone interested in helping either as a volunteer or by donating empties should contact Volunteer Thunder Bay at 807-623-8272.
