THUNDER BAY – Sports – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Thursday that two additional Sioux Lookout Flyers’ games, scheduled for this weekend, have been temporarily postponed. Those contests were to have featured the Flyers hosting the Minnesota Iron Rangers Friday and Saturday at Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena.
The Flyers are presently dealing with a number of roster issues due to injuries and registrations of new players and are thus not able to ice a full line-up for those games.
Expectations are that Sioux Lookout will return to game action in their next scheduled outing, Friday, Oct. 12 as they host the Minnesota Wilderness.
Make-up dates for these two games, as well as for the Sioux Lookout contest vs. Thunder Bay Wednesday that was also postponed will be announced at a later date once they are finalized.
The SIJHL and Sioux Lookout Flyers apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. SIJHL action does resume Friday and features a re-match of last season’s Bill Salonen Cup as the Fort Frances Lakers host the Minnesota Wilderness at Ice for Kids Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
