EMO – Sports – The season finale of racing at the Emo Speedway took place this past Saturday night on a day that had the seemingly usual case of rain everywhere but at the race track itself. There was plenty of great racing action as always however, as the three classes competed one more time before the off season.

In the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Christopher Leek moved to the front of the pack early on, but Cody Ossachuk was able to recover and passed Leek with just a lap to go to claim the heat win. In the feature, Leek started on the front row, and even after falling off the top of turn two due to losing rear brakes, a restart allowed the field to tighten up again. Leek made a pass for the lead and never looked back for his fourth feature win at the Emo Speedway in 2012. Ossachuk completed a solid effort for the night with a second place finish, while Anthony Visser, Terry Martin, and Chad Bogacki finished out the top five.

In the Street Stock heat, Tylar Wilson came from sixth place to win it. In the feature, Wilson started in seventh, but kept his eye on the win as a dramatic race took place between Jeff Wickstrom for the lead throughout much of the race. The two drivers jostled back and forth, both of them trying to find an edge on the other. Having two lines available gave some clean, yet competitive side by side action. As the white flag waved, it looked as though Wickstrom was going to hold off Wilson, but coming out of turn four, they were still side by side. Coming to the checkered flag, Wilson claimed the win on the low side by just over a bumper. It was an exciting race for a season finale!

In the WISSOTA Modifieds, veteran Gary Wilson won the heat starting on the front row and took the early lead as the green flag waved. Denny Trimble roared from third spot and started to reel in the leader. With several laps to go, Trimble was running low to get underneath Wilson for the lead, but could not quite find the spot to do it. However, the two swapped the position a few times. Wilson held his line and was determined to keep the lead. Coming to the checkered flag, it was too close to call, but Wilson eked out an amazing win! A big congratulations to the veteran!
