Government Funds for Healthier Communities

Michael Gravelle MPPTHUNDER BAY – Through the Healthy Communities Fund, the province is helping local community partners deliver programs that promote physical activity, sport and recreation, healthy eating, injury prevention, tobacco control and mental health, as well as programs that address alcohol and substance misuse.

In the riding of Thunder Bay – Superior North, three organizations will deliver local, innovative programs that promote healthier, more active living, including:

• Youth Strategy Implementation Project, City of Thunder Bay, $29,275
• Child & Youth Recreational Mentoring Program, Boys & Girls Club of Thunder Bay, $12,290
• Junior Cross-Country Ski Program, Geraldton Nordic Ski Club, $10,000

MPP Michael Gravelle stated, “I’m delighted to see these three organizations receive the funding they need to help young people in our riding to achieve healthier and more active lifestyles”.
