police carTHUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre was the scene of a tragedy early on Monday morning. A pedestrian involved in a collision with a vehicle has died, city police confirmed.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers blocked off the Golf Links Road entrance to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre following the fatal crash. Officers responded to a call of a collision on the hospital grounds sometime after 9AM.

Police say the man was a patient and had “thrown himself under a truck which was driving near the main entrance of the building”.

The investigation did not cause a major disruption to pedestrian or vehicle traffic to the TBRHS. The investigation is ongoing.
