Weather AlertTHUNDER BAY – UPDATED – Weather warning has ended…. Weather Warning – Environment Canada reports, “At 9:00 PM EDT radar indicates a few severe thunderstorms near and west of Thunder Bay. These thunderstorms are slowly moving southeastwards at 20 km/h. These thunderstorms are capable of producing hail to 3 cm in diameter, strong gusty winds up to 90 km/h and heavy downpours. Localized areas of heavy rainfall are expected with 50 to 75 mm in some locales. They are expected to diminish later this evening”.

Severe thunderstorms are imminent or occurring in the area. These storms may produce large hail, damaging winds or heavy rainfall. Remember that some severe thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes.

Emergency management Ontario recommends taking cover immediately when threatening weather approaches.
