3:16 PM EDT Monday 18 June 2012 Tornado warning has been issued for Atikokan, Shebandowan and Quetico Park. This has been upgraded from a severe thunderstorm warning

Strong thunderstorms over the region moving from west to east over the next few hours will produce large hail and likely a tornado. The storms are over Quetico Park moving eastward at 50 km/h and may cross highway 11 east of Atikokan near 3:45 PM. Large hail to 5 cm in diameter and wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h are likely with these storms.

Severe thunderstorms likely producing tornadoes are imminent or occurring in the area. Large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall may also accompany these storms.

Emergency management Ontario recommends taking cover immediately when threatening weather approaches.
