NNL-FloodandRecoveryTHUNDER BAY – Sinkholes caused by May’s heavy rainfall have caused the closure of portions of Mountain Road and Twin City Crossroad while repairs are completed.

Mountain Road, between the Fort William Country Club entrance and the White Fox Inn, was closed Tuesday for a minimum of five days while culverts are replaced. Drivers can access Mountain Road via City Road up to the White Fox Inn or 15th Side Road to get to other areas.

Twin City Crossroad, near the Northern Lights Golf Course, was also closed Tuesday and should re-open tonight. “That section of road will close again for three or four days starting June 20 while culverts are replaced,” said Mike Vogrig, Project Engineer.
