Thunder Bay Police share that the incident started in the parking lot of the Wendys Restaurant on Red River Road. The accused allegedly was involved in a collision, and left the scene of that accident. Then at the corner of Junot Avenue South and Walkover Street hit another vehicle head on.

That accident led to the driver of the other vehicle as well as the female passenger being taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle is a teenage male. The accused was taken into custody and will appear in court facing seven charges including: impaired driving causing bodily harm; impaired driving; failing to stop at the scene of an accident; and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

Witnesses at the scene reported to NNL that the driver went through the intersection at a very high rate of speed.

Thunder Bay Police had Junot Avenue South blocked off for several hours last night diverting traffic while the accident was investigated.
