THUNDER BAY – Areas of Northwood, Westfort and Intercity are wet and in some cases flooded due to rain. Reports are coming in of basements with water, as well as underpasses with lots of water blocking traffic.

Highway 11-17 from the Harbour Expressway to the Highway 102 junction is reported closed due to flooding.
Oliver Road is also reported closed.

Marg Barbini has reported, “The Atlantic Avenue Secondary Sewage Treatment Plant is right behind us. All our neighbours were out this morning before 5-6AM knocking on doors asking if their basements were flooded. Everyone in the McIntosh Street area has flooded basements and probably the rest of the East-End as well”.

Thunder Bay Transit is operating, but there is no word on specific route changes.

The rain won’t be letting up until Wednesday according to Environment Canada. The forecast for Monday is showers. There is the risk of a thunderstorm this morning.

EC says there will be fog patches this morning. For tonight, mainly cloudy with a 60 percent chance of showers.

Tuesday is calling for showers ending in the evening.
