Thunder Bay Police seek assistance from the public

THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – The Thunder Bay Police Criminal Investigation Unit is appealing to the public to assist with the investigation of the stolen vehicle that was involved in the fatal collision on Northern Ave this weekend. A 2004 Grey Dodge Dakota 4 door truck was reported stolen from the Otto Street area at approximately 2:40PM. on Saturday, May 19th.

Police are interested in speaking to members of the public who may have seen the vehicle in the city after the time it was reported stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Thunder Bay Police at 684-1200.

TBPS also share that the driver who died as a result of the motor vehicle collision on Northern Ave this past weekend has been identified as 67 year old Martin John Amos.

On Thursday morning, just after midnight Police received a 911 call indicating that a female had been assaulted and was bleeding at a South Algoma Street residence. Uniformed officers arrived and the scene, and assisted a 54 year old female who had been cut on the side of the neck. The woman was transported to hospital by ambulance for medical attention and has since returned home.

The investigation lead to the arrest of a 31 year old female who has been charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking. She remains in police custody. Both females were known to each other and it appears alcohol was factor.
