NNLCRIMEbeatTHUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – The ongoing battle against substance abuse is continuing in Thunder Bay. On May 9, 2012 Thunder Bay Drug Enforcement Officers, assisted by the Thunder Bay Police Guns and Gangs Unit, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant in the 1500 block of Highway 61.

A 33 year old male and a 27 year old female resident of Thunder Bay were arrested and taken into custody without incident.

The Thunder Bay Police report, “A result of the search of the residence resulted in the seizure of approximately 114 grams of cocaine. Street value of the drugs seized is approximately $ 11,400.00. Both the male and female have been charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking sec 5(2) CDSA. Both will be appearing in Thunder Bay court on June 6, 2012.

The Combined Forces Organized Crime Unit consists of members from The Thunder Bay Police Service, The O.P.P.- Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, The R.C.M.P., The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and The Anishinabek Police Service.
