THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police are reporting on two incidents today. First, at approximately 2:20AM on Thursday morning, Apex Security discovered that windows at the Current River Recreation Center had been broken and the building had been entered. When uniformed officers arrived on scene the they did not locate anyone in the building.
Officers noted that glass on several windows and doors had been broken, a fire extinguisher had been used and there was damage to some other items inside the hall. Damage has been estimated at $3,000.00.
The Current River Rec Centre is currently closed, and undergoing cleaning. The teen dance scheduled for Friday night has been cancelled.

Second, TBPS is providing an update on the recent arson incidents on Regina Street. Police report, “As a result of the investigations into the three arsons that occurred during the early morning of Sunday, March 18th , Detectives received information and evidence that lead to an arrest.
A 17 year old male was arrested earlier today. He has been charged with:
- 3 counts of Arson Damaging Property;
- 1 count of Robbery for an unrelated incident and;
- 4 counts of Breach of Probation.
The youth remains in police custody and will appear in court tomorrow.
