THUNDER BAY – Kirsten Pavelich is a physiotherapist, facilitator, and consultant in health care education. Michelle Addison is a physiotherapist, professional practice leader, facilitator and educator. Both were speakers at the TEDxThunder Bay event held in February.
Kristen is passionate about studying and facilitating the conditions that allow people to learn from one another in ways that lead to transformation. She is particularly interested in how we find common ground and connect in meaningful ways with others despite apparent differences, and how a sense of connectedness can empower us to make constructive changes in ourselves and our world. Kirsten has had the good fortune to witness transformation through connectedness in her work, as well as in her own life with family, friends, mentors, and a fabulous group of dancing women.
Michelle is a physiotherapist, professional practice leader, facilitator and educator. She is passionate about creating opportunities that allow us to experience the joys and benefits of learning from one another, and exploring collaboratively to embrace what emerges in a way that leads to meaningful change. Engaging with others in self-reflection has allowed Michelle to experience transformation at a personal level. She finds immense joy in cultivating meaning and happiness in her own life and helping others to do the same. Michelle is grateful for a healthy balance between her work and personal life, with wonderful family and friends.
The TEDxThunderBay set out to inspire reinvention in Thunder Bay so we may cultivate and develop a more vibrant community – together. To inspire reinvention, TEDxThunderBay will engage the people of Thunder Bay around the spreading of ideas – so that we will cultivate positive change in ourselves and in our community.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
