THUNDER BAY – Sports – The Thunder Bay North Stars are on a roll in their playoff series against the Duluth Clydesdales. The North Stars are up 3-0 in their best of seven series, with Game Four on against Duluth tonight. The North Stars now have even more to fire them up for tonight’s game. The Superior International Junior Hockey League have announced Brandon Wolframe of the Thunder Bay North Stars as the Sportop performer of the month for February.
In the past thirteen games, Wolframe, a rookie forward with the North Stars, scored ten goals, and assisted on nine others to a total of nineteen points. Two of his goals help the North Stars to win games, and he also assisted on another game-winner.
Wolframe’s determined efforts helped the North Stars to a record of nine wins, three loses and a tie during February. The team spent the last eleven games of the season on the road which makes Wolframe’s record even more impressive.
Wolframe is a Thunder Bay product who is just 18 years of age. Wolframe finished the regular season in the SIJHL tied for second on the North Stars and was 17th overall in scoring in the league. He totalled 53 points in 51 games including 23 goals and 30 assists. He was also 6th in the league in game-winning goals with six.
Wolframe will be recognized at a future game and presented with a gift pack courtesy of Sportop Marketing Inc.
