Greg RickfordKENORA – “I am happy to announce the beginning of this year’s Canada Summer Jobs program,” said Kenora MP Greg Rickford. “This program has helped many students and businesses in the Kenora riding in previous years. I look forward to another productive year for businesses in Kenora.” The Canada Summer Jobs program will be accepting applications from small businesses, not-for-profits and the public sector, beginning February 1st and running until February 29th, 2012.

This program provides funding to create summer job opportunities for young people aged 15 to 30 years who are full-time students and who intend to return to their studies in the next school year. The Canada Summer Jobs program aims to provide work experiences for these students.

Every year the Canada Summer Jobs program supports many diverse organizations, including those that provide vital community services. It also provides support to thousands of students needing employment. The program acknowledges that local circumstances, community needs and priorities vary widely.
