Charges of Second Degree Murder laid in Thunder Bay’s latest homicide

THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – The city has had another murder. Thunder Bay Police Service advises that the charge charge against Kelsey Lance Charles Jacob has been upgraded to 2nd degree murder in the death of 53 year old Barney Beaver of Webequie First Nation. The charge is as a result of an assault that took place on December 17, 2011 at the Victoria Inn in Thunder Bay.

Jacob is remanded in custody, and will next appear in court on January 5, 2012.

The body of Barney Beaver will be flew back to Webequie later in the afternoon today. The funeral service in Webequie will be on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 12PM.
