THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Sometimes a little good timing and good luck are on the side of law enforcement. Thunder Bay Police Service report at approximately 12:36AM on Thursday morning, three males, all young offenders, entered the Mac’s store located on 100 West Arthur Street. Two of the males had knifes. One suspect allegedly grabbed the store clerk and held the knife against the victim’s throat.
The first officer on the scene was actually driving by the store checking, when the call came in and caught all three accused in the store. Two other officers attended and backed up the first officer. The three officers were able to talk the males with the knives into putting them down.
The three young offenders have been charged with Robbery with a Weapon, Assault with a Weapon, Use a disguise with Intend and Forcible Confinement.
Luckily no one was injured. All three youths will be attending bail court in the morning.
In other reports overnight from the Thunder Bay Police, a 34 year-old northward male is in custody for Assault with a Weapon after threatening his common law wife with a knife. The male will be attending bail court in the morning.
