TbaytelTHUNDER BAY – Today has been a day of Internet issues for customers of both Shaw and Tbaytel. This morning, Shaw services in parts of the city were briefly interupted. That left some customers without phone or Internet services.

10:16PM Update: Tbaytel reports, “All cellular service in the affected areas has been restored. In addition, Landline/Internet service has been restored to most impacted areas. Service issues remain in the Commerce St, Mountdale, Riverdale, W.Francis St, and West Gore St. areas. Our crews are working to fully restore services as quickly as possible”.

Earlier, Tbaytel reported, “Tbaytel is currently experiencing technical issues due to a fibre & cable cut that has occurred at the location of Mountdale & Walsh streets resulting in landline and cellular services outage in the Thunder Bay South area. Areas affected include Crooks, Highway 61, Kamview, Mink Mountain, Mountdale, Mud Lake, Murillo, Neebing, Norwester, Pigeon River, Pinedale, Riverdale, Rosslyn, Sistonens, South Gillies, Westfort & Whitefish. Services may be temporarily affected or interrupted. Some of the areas affected are estimated to be restored to full service by midnight tonight, while others are estimated to be restored by noon on December 15th. Tbaytel crews are on site and will continue to work to restore services for our customers as quickly as possible. Tbaytel apologizes for the inconvenience to our valued customers and we thank you for your patience. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updated information”.
