THUNDER BAY – Confederation College students and staff co-ordinated their month long effort with the annual “Stock the Bank” challenge and internal campaign in support of the student food bank and the United Way. A friendly competition among departments resulted in a $40,569.00 contribution and the collection of over 2700 food bank items.

“Contributions like this one from Confederation College, helps to support the good work the United Way is doing in the community,” said Ms. Kembel. “We are truly thankful to the College community for helping us do our most important work.”

A long standing tradition at Confederation, the Stock the Bank competition has been a fun event that raises funds, food and the spirit of the season. This year’s winner was Registration Services, Admissions, Financial Aid and Continuing Education for the large teams and Aramark Food Services & Follett Bookstore for the small team category.

SUCCI President, Naomi Abotossaway said the event is well received and the awards are well deserved. “Departments are rewarded points for donations, food products and participation. It becomes a frenzy of activity within the doors of the school and adds some fun to important work.”

“Our students and employees are dedicated to the community in which they live, learn and work,” said President Jim Madder. “I am truly thankful that I am a part of such a wonderful organization.”
