Matawa---Judicial-ReviewTHUNDER BAY – Matawa First Nations have developed a brochure that has been distributed to communities to inform them about the activities occurring in their traditional territories with respect to the Ring of Fire.

The piece covers Matawa’s repeated attempts to communicate with the government about Cliffs and Noront projects, and the request for a Joint Review Panel EA and subsequent Judicial Review filed in federal court on November 7, 2011.

While debate continues over where the ferrochrome processing facility should be located, the bigger debate could be between First Nations and the Ontario and federal Governments.
