Contract between CEP Local 324-13 and Patricia Gardens Supportive Housing Facility Finalized

DRYDEN – Stephen Boon, CEP National Representative, confirms “A new five year contract between CEP Local 324-13 and the Patricia Gardens Supportive Housing Facility in Dryden has now been finalized”. The previous agreement had expired March 31, 2011. Boon stated, “We are pleased to have reached a solid, long-term deal that achieves key improvements in language, wages and benefits for our members. The new deal provides $800 in lump sum payments, and 8.5% in general wage increases over the term. It was ratified by over 75% of the CEP Membership at a meeting held in Dryden on October 20th and was just approved by the Patricia Gardens Board last week.”

Key Terms of Deal
Year 1 – $400 lump sum (1.1%-1.5% of Base Pay) to all employees
Year 2 – $400 lump sum (1.1%-1.5% of Base Pay) to all employees
Year 3 – 2.75% wage increase
Year 4 – 2.75% wage increase
Year 5 – 3% wage increase

– reduced probation period from 420 to 330 hours
– ability to bank overtime as time off at the 1 1/2 overtime rate
– ability to utilize 2 additional vacation days as individual days off
– expanded bereavement leave language
– $25 increase in annual uniform allowance
– new minimum daily scheduling for part-time/casual workers
