THUNDER BAY – “Northern families deserve to know where Dalton McGuinty will be on Northern debate day. What is he doing that is so important that he cannot come up here to discuss issues that matter to Northern families?” asked Steve Mantis, the NDP candidate for Thunder Bay Superior North. Both NDP candidates, Mary Kozorys for Thunder Bay-Atikokan, and Steve Mantis for Thunder Bay-Superior North are asking where will Dalton McGuinty be on Northern debate day in Thunder Bay.
“It’s a good day to ask McGuinty where he will be on Northern debate day,” said Kozorys, “he joined a plowing match today but will McGuinty join the Northern debate? If McGuinty does not show up for the Northern debate, the plowing match will be the only time apart from the televised debate in Toronto the leaders of Ontario’s three major political parties will stand in the same spot at once”.
Andrea Horwath was in eastern Ontario addressing the concerns of rural Ontarians. In addition she competed in a traditional plowing match with Dalton McGuinty and Tim Hudak.
The NDP candidates questioned the McGuinty Liberals old and tired style of politics of issuing attacks through emails while refusing to stand face to face in a Northern debate to address what matters to Northern families.
“If McGuinty is so proud of his record in the North, then he should come to the Northern debate to let Northern families know what he’s done for them and their communities,” said Kozorys.
