Waterloo/ Brunswick StandoffTHUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Charges have been laid in the incident on Brunswick and Waterloo that led to a four and a half hour standoff in Thunder Bay. Thunder Bay Police report that “Fifty-three year old Alan J Kajutis has been charged with ‘Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public and with Uttering a Threat.

The suspect appeared in video court this morning, and was remanded into custody for his next court appearance of September 16, 2011.

Yesterday’s incident started when Thunder Bay By-law officers attended the property over complaints that there was debris on the property. The incident escalated and that led to the standoff.

Over the past twenty-four hours, Thunder Bay Police dealt with over 100 incidents. They include several thefts, several assaults, and a number of property crimes.
