RCMP Issue Canada Wide Warrant for Murder Suspect

RCMP Seek SuspectTHUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Fisher Branch RCMP with the assistance of the RCMP Serious Crime Unit continue to investigate the murder of Nancy Swenty.

Investigators have now, based on information and evidence gathered to date, laid a charge of 2nd Degree Murder against 51-year-old Russell Gordon McDiarmid of Fisher Branch in connection with the death of Nancy Swenty. A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been obtained.

Russell McDiarmid is described as Caucasian with balding brown hair, brown eyes, 5’11” tall and weights about 169 lbs.

Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is urged not to approach him and to contact the police.

Police say that McDiarmid is possibly armed and may be traveling in a stolen 2006 Ford Ranger pick-up truck.
