The Thunder Bay Police Service and Canadian Border Services would like to warn the public about the presence of an art scam here in Thunder Bay. The scam involves foreign nationals and in particular persons posing as Israeli art students who go door to door trying to sell original artwork.

The artwork turns out to be made in China and is being sold many times more than it as actually worth. These individuals may be in violation of Canadian Immigration law. If you do encounter these individuals, do not do business with them. Please contact police.

The public can also contact our hotline directly at the Canada Border Services Agency Border Watch Toll-free Line at 1-888-502-9060.
