KENORA – It is a push in Kenora Rainy River for endorsements. Today, Kenora Mayor David Canfield provided his support to Kenora City Councillor Rod MacKay who is running for the Progressive Conservatives. “I have worked with Rod on city council, and can tell you that he brings a common sense approach to things. While I will miss having him on council, I know he will be an effective representative for the people of Kenora – Rainy River at Queen’s Park,” Canfield said.
Canfield further commented on how Rod’s experience will serve the riding well when he is elected MPP.
“Rod has been the mill manager at Kenora Forest Products for 14 years. He knows the forest industry inside and out. We need someone with his knowledge and experience working for us to make sure our voice is heard and that the right policies are put in place to help our communities grow,” commented Canfield.
McKay was pleased to receive the support of the Kenora mayor, and noted that he was receiving support across the riding. “Dave is someone I respect who is working hard to bring economic development to Kenora. As I travel across the riding meeting people, I am thrilled at the support I am receiving. People are upset that the North is not being listened to, and they want an experienced voice to represent them at Queen’s Park.”
Outgoing MPP Howard Hampton has endorsed Sarah Campbell, the NDP candidate.
