“Jack was a fighter – committed to his constituents…”

KENORA – Kenora MP Greg Rickford is today joining with Canadians from across the country in mourning the passing of Jack Layton. “I was deeply saddened to learn this morning of the death of Jack Layton. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Olivia and their family in this most difficult time.”

Mr. Layton was originally diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009; a battle which he had overcome. Last month however, Mr. Layton announced that he had been diagnosed with a new form of cancer, and would be taking time off from politics to fight it.
