Andrea HorwathTHUNDER BAY – NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says, “It is time that Northerners had a government that listens”. Speaking to NetNewsledger.com this afternoon, the NDP leader said that the two planks of the NDP Platform released today are just part of the overall Northern Platform. The rest of the NDP’s full Northern Platform will be released in a few weeks.

Speaking of the McGuinty Government and in her words, their “plan to have a plan”, Horwath says it is a case of “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me”.

Horwath states that voters are leaving the Liberals in droves and looking for a party to support. It is her belief that once the campaign begins in earnest, after Labour Day that voters will choose the New
Democrats.

She says that in her view, voters will have a choice between “the people first approach of the New Democrats, and the other parties”.

Horwath commented that the “summer of announcements” is an issue that as Premier she would seek to resolve. “The last year of the mandate is now all spent campaigning,” the NDP leader stated.
