The 57th Annual Ceremonial Review for 2511 Lake Superior Scottish Regiment Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps
THUNDER BAY – News – The 57th Annual Ceremonial Review for 2511 Lake Superior Scottish Regiment Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps took place on Wednesday, June 8, 2011.

“Cadets have completed a busy training year and tonight is a celebration of their accomplishments” stated Captain Gordon Bucknell, Commanding Officer. “Major accomplishments for this year included:
Fall Frenzy FTX, Silver and Gold Star Expeditions to Winnipeg, Fitness Test Day/Marksmanship, Remembrance Day Parade, “Mom’s Pantry” fundraiser, Snow Desert Winter FTX, Mother’s Day Breakfast at Kakabekka Falls RCL, Map/Compass/Orienteering Day, Nav Trekking Spring FTX, Vimy Ridge Memorial Parade and D-Day LSSR Memorial Parade. These are in addition to the regular weekly cadet activities.”

Major David Ratz was the reviewing officer. After inspection and march by, a number of awards were presented to the cadets. The Awards and recipients were:
Perfect Attendance: Sgt. J. Busch, Cpl. K. Lynch
Excellent Attendance (1 excused absence): Sgt. A. Michano, MCpl. A. Frasca
Best 1st Year Cadet – L. Cpl. C. Mitchel
Best 2nd Year Cadet – Cpl. K. Lynch
Best 3rd Year Cadet – MCpl. R. Liwinenko
Best 4th Year Cadet – Sgt. A. Michano
Esprit de Corps – Cpl. P. Bielski
Outstanding Leadership – Sgt. J. Busch
Legion Medal of Excellence – Sgt. A. Michano
Lord Strathcona Medal – Sgt. J. Busch

Following the ceremony and awards presentation, the many attending family, friends and local dignitaries viewed the interesting displays and demonstrations put together by the Cadets while enjoying refreshments.
