THUNDER BAY -“A passionate commitment to safety is central to our business culture and operations at Union Gas,” said Glenn Burton, the Northwest District Manager for Union Gas . “That’s why we are so pleased to support this important community safety initiative, as it aligns perfectly with our business values.”  Union Gas today announced a $5,000 gift to the Canadian Red Cross Society in support of their First Aid and Injury Prevention Program for Fort William First Nation.

Burton presented the donation to Rob Zuback, Manager of Fund Development for Northern Ontario for the Canadian Red Cross Society, at an event held today at the organization’s office on Barton Street in Thunder Bay.

The funds will be used to provide education and training on first aid and injury prevention.
Rob Zuback, Fund Development Manager – Northern Ontario, said “the Red Cross is pleased to work with a caring and compassionate company like Union Gas. Their support will allow us to continue to carry out our mission in Northern Ontario helping the most vulnerable to lead safer, healthier lives.”
One of the significant contributions Union Gas makes to communities is a passionate commitment to safety, which it demonstrates by meeting or exceeding all safety codes for the construction and operation of pipelines, through an ongoing pipeline maintenance and integrity program, public safety awareness campaigns and support for important community safety initiatives.
