THUNDER BAY – Due to the postal disruption, The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (TBDSSAB) and Thunder Bay District Housing Corporation (TBDHC) have implemented special procedures to ensure business continuity and client service.
Regardless of the status of the postal disruption and back to work legislation, Ontario Works social assistance recipient cheques for July will not be mailed and will only be available for pickup.
All TBDSSAB and TBDHC cheque recipients (including clients, vendors and landlords) served by City of Thunder Bay offices must pick up cheques in the Coliseum Building at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition, located at 425 Northern Avenue Thunder Bay on June 29, June 30 July 4 and July 5 between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM ONLY. Cheques will not be available at TBDSSAB or TBDHC offices during this period. All cheque recipients must show valid government issued identification in order to pick up a cheque.
Ontario Works clients and landlords served by offices outside the City of Thunder Bay should contact their local Ontario Works office about cheque pickup procedures and locations. If you don’t know who to contact, please call our main office at (807) 766-2111 or toll free: (877) 281-2958.
Vendors providing services to TBDSSAB or TBDHC should refer frequently to the TBDSSAB website at www.tbdssab.on.ca or TBDHC website at www.tbdhc.com for detailed information about invoice procedures, cheque pickup, and updates.
Please note that throughout the postal disruption clients of TBDSSAB and TBDHC remain responsible to provide the required documentation, payments, or information to be granted or maintain eligibility for benefits, tenancy, or services.
