THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – The rainy weather seems to have had an impact on crime in Thunder Bay over the past day. Overnight there were only three crimes noted. A business was broken into on the 1 block of Algoma Street. A residence on Market Street was also broken into. On the southside there was an assault reported on the 500 block of Victoria Avenue.

Thunder Bay Police Service report, “The two males arrested for the robbery of Mac’s Mart at 235 South Syndicate Avenue in the early morning hours of 21 June, 2011 appeared before the courts yesterday, 21 June,2011. Both have been remanded in custody at the district jail and will appear again before the courts to answer to their charges.

Both suspects were to appear in video court. The Thunder Bay Police Criminal Investigations Branch investigators are also looking into other recent robberies of convenience stores which were of a similar nature.
