THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police want to speak to the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a rear –end type collision that occurred at the intersection of Central Ave and Fort William Rd at about 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning. A red Volkswagen was struck from behind by a north bound vehicle, possibly a pick-up truck. The driver immediately fled the scene. The driver and passenger of the Volkswagen sustained minor injuries and the vehicle was substantially damaged.

Police are also requesting the assistance of any motorist who may have witnessed this collision.

There were six breakins overnight, along with five reported property crimes. Four assaults were responded to by the Thunder Bay Police.

A weapons offence was responded to in the 1100 block of Barton Street. As well there was a break and enter and property crime incident on the 700 block of Brown Street.

Overall a fairly quiet night for Thunder Bay Police.
