WINNIPEG – The Thunder Bay Chill opened their season with a win Saturday night in Winnipeg, Manitoba, against league new comers, and fellow Canadians, WSA Winnipeg. Brandon Swartzendruber scored the only goal in a 1-0 match at the Winnipeg Indoor Soccer Complex Field.
In a game that marked the first time the entire Chill squad played together this season, Winnipeg approached the game with a defensive style. “They sat back and were very disciplined”, said Chill Head Coach Tony Colistro. The Chill had several offensive chances, but did not break through till the 80th minute when Jordian Farahani provided an assist to a Brandon Swartzendruber goal that sealed the victory for the Chill.
