THUNDER BAY – Superior Yogafest is a non-profit community festival that celebrates and shares the ancient traditions of Yoga. The Festival was started in 2007 as a way to unite, inspire and serve the community through celebration in such a way that allows yoga to be accessible to everyone. The festival has grown from using the small Unitarian Hall with having just some music, dancing and food to what it is today. Over 300 people participate every year in this festival, which provides a feast for the mind, body and soul!

This year the festival will offer yoga classes, workshops, guest speakers on great topics such as The Mind or Hypnotherapy. There will be demonstrations of dance, drumming, live music and drama and of course delicious vegetarian Indian Food. Various Vendors will be on hand with information ranging from local yoga classes, yoga stuff for sale, raw foods, and henna art. It is with the help of the community and all the volunteers that come together that makes this such a great event.

When you come to a yoga festival you see that there is so much diversity, so many options to living a healthy stress free life. You get to see that there is something for everyone. Celebrating yoga gives every citizen out there an opportunity to try something new, to share in their joy of balanced living, or to expand out of the comfort zone and experience something that they never thought of trying before.

Come out and connect with like minded people and enjoy a day of art, science, song and food. If you are new to yoga or would like to find out how yoga can improve your life, come out and connect with many yoga teachers and find the right class for you.

All activities will take place in the Bora Laskin Building at Lakehead University on May 29th.Sunday. Doors open at 12:00 pm.
