THUNDER BAY – Wednesday, May 25th marked a shift in the creative production industry in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Utilizing their own unique specializations, four local companies have come together in collaboration to deliver 100% locally produced television advertisements at a level of quality that can compete in any national market.
Everything starts with a single idea, and in this story of collaboration, Generator Strategy Advertising, Imaginarium Studio Inc, Dining Room Studios, and Renner VFX, have taken this idea and brought it to life in a way that was never before possible in Thunder Bay. In an event at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery on Wednesday, May 25th, the group unveiled two collaborative works, one that has recently hit the airwaves and one that has yet to be seen on television. Local companies Tbaytel and Lakehead Employment Services debuted their latest advertisements as an example of the calibre of work that is now available for large corporations (Tbaytel) as well as smaller companies (Lakehead Employment Services). In short, the central focus of the event is the knowledge that Thunder Bay’s small market location is no longer a hindrance to creative thinking, problem solving or artistic expression.
Each of the four partners brings a specific specialization to the table so that this creative expression, never before seen in Northwestern Ontario, can work. Generator Strategy Advertising, working on behalf of the client, is the agency in which the creative concept originates, and where the project is overseen to its completion. Imaginarium Studio Inc. is the video production company that is responsible for delivering the finished video. As the quality of production is paramount, Imaginarium always strives to measure themselves against world class content. Dining Room Studios is responsible for the vision and creation of the music and sound that sets the tone for the entire commercial. George Renner, creator of Renner VFX, works with images from Imaginarium and produces the 3D visual effects that enable the impossible to happen on screen.
By producing a local product that can be compared to any national advertiser, the collaborative team is hoping to empower the creative and business community in Thunder Bay to come to the realization that Thunder Bay is blowin’ up.
