THUNDER BAY – Here we grow again. Once again, expect change on NetNewsledger.com, and on our related websites. The NNL Group of Companies are moving servers, and getting set to offer you even more speed on the site. Over the course of the past several years, as traffic has continued to grow, NetNewsledger.com has outgrown three servers.

The new server promises to allow us greater options to continue to offer you more features including streaming video, and audio.

NetNewsledger.com started in 2006, and since inception, over 1.65 million visitors have been on the site, getting news, information, and updates.

What is exciting are the scope of visitors to NNL. Not only have thousands across Northwestern Ontario made this news site a regular stop on the Internet, but so have people from around the world. The message to Thunder Bay is a simple one, the world is interested in our region. So too are hundreds of readers from southern Ontario, and across Canada.

The days long ago, when our region was considered isolated are long gone. The eyes of the world are on us.

Readership across Northwestern Ontario continues to grow
Readership across Northwestern Ontario continues to grow.

Most of the readers are, of course from here, in Northwestern Ontario, but perhaps the reality is, as people continue to discover the potential of our region, their interest in what is going on here in our region grows.

This pattern of growth has continued since 2006. Over time we have expanded the site several times, offering new ways of engaging our ever connected audience of readers, and viewers. Through 2011, we are planning to expand our coverage, and those decisions required more band-width, and more control over the processes.

Our new virtual server will be coming online over the next two days, and may cause short periods of time when the site is unavaliable. Those times will be as brief as possible, and will help up putting in place the upgrades.

One of the new features that will be under the hood is a new, and faster plug-in called Jetpack. This allows us greater flexibility in the background and a faster site for you. We both win.

As always, we have done all of our upgrades, and changes live and in front of you, our readers.

All I can say is thank you, meegweech – without your readership, none of what happens on NetNewsledger.com could happen.
