Plenty of Fun to be Had at Fort William Historical Park

THUNDER BAY – There is plenty of fun in store for everyone during the ninth annual Voyageur Winter Carnival hosted by Fort William Historical Park February 19th to 21st. Enjoyable outdoor recreational activities, games and contests, and some indoor entertainment highlight this exciting celebration of winter. The Carnival runs from 11 am to 5 pm daily, including Monday February 21st which is Family Day in Ontario.

Visitors can enjoy tubing runs, the giant snow maze, sled dog rides (an additional fee, limited capacity), skating, snowshoeing, cabane à sucre or sugar shack hosted by Club Canadien Francais, indoor crafts and entertainers, “Wii” games, and historic tours, culminating in a combination of heritage and contemporary activities.

Contests include the cutest baby, log sawing, snow shovelling, prettiest pooch, “stupendous” pet tricks, children’s create a snowman contest, three – legged race, and family relay. Different contests are offered on different days, so please check the FWHP website for schedules.

FWHPAdmission is: $10.00 per day for Adults, Seniors, and Students age 13+ or $20.00 for three days; $7.50 per day for youths age 6 to 12 or $15.00 for three days; $5.00 for children age two to five or $10.00 for three days; and free for kids under 24 months. Passes can be purchased at Admissions in the Visitor Centre from 8:30 am to 5 pm daily.
