Port Authority Elects Greg Arason to Board

Thunder BayTHUNDER BAY – Chuck Strahl, the Minister of Transport, has announced that Greg Arason has been elected to the board of directors of the Thunder Bay Port Authority for a three-year term which will start on January 1, 2011.

“I am pleased that Mr. Arason has agreed to serve on the board of the Thunder Bay Port Authority,” said Strahl.

Strahl added that he “Believed that Arason’s transportation and marketing expertise will be a valuable asset to the board”.

Arason is a recently retired senior executive who served as president and chief executive officer of the Canadian Wheat Board from 1998 to 2002, and more recently from 2006 to 2008. Arason has, according to Portworld, “has served as a director of numerous corporate and industry associations, and is a past chair of the Chamber of Maritime Commerce and the Manitoba Rural Leadership Training Committee”.
