THUNDER BAY – 01:00AM – Snow is falling in Thunder Bay. Environment Canada states, “A low pressure system currently over the central states will intensify and move slowly through Northwestern Ontario on Thursday
A large area of snow associated with this system is currently affecting Northwestern Ontario and will spread northeast to reach areas north of Lake Superior later tonight or early Thursday morning. Current indications suggest a general snowfall of 10 to 15 centimetres by late in the day Thursday
For areas north of Lake Superior, amounts may be slightly higher and locally exceed 15 centimetres. However a snowfall warning is not anticipated at this point as the condition of receiving 15 centimetres within a 12-hour period will likely not be met
Areas along the shores of Lake Superior including Thunder Bay will see slightly lesser amounts as the snow is expected to change to rain late tonight or Thursday morning.”
