THUNDER BAY – Do not put those snow shovels away yet. If Environment Canada is right, there is another ten centimetres of the white stuff on the way.
“A low pressure system currently in its development stage over Wyoming is expected to approach the Great Lakes region by Thursday. A large area of snow associated with this system will reach the Ontario-Manitoba border Wednesday afternoon and overspread the remainder of Northwestern Ontario by evening. There is considerable uncertainty at this point as to how much snowfall will occur. But the potential exists for in excess of 10 centimetres to fall.”
There is no official word yet as to when local ski hills will kick into operation.
However for ski buffs looking for a great start to the ski season there has already been 90cm of snow at Sunshine Village in Alberta. The only problem is it is also currently minus 20c at the resort.
