THUNDER BAY – On Remembrance Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, Thunder Bay Transit will again offer complimentary transit service to veterans, their immediate families, and the families of deceased veterans.
“To show our respect and gratitude, Transit is making it easier for survivors and families to attend Remembrance Day events”, said Jon Hendel, spokesperson for Thunder Bay Transit. “We will not forget those who sacrificed so much for our country.”
Armed Forces members, Cadets, or other uniformed persons attending services and events may also ride transit for the day without charge by identifying themselves to the Operator by showing any of the following items: Uniforms, medals, berets and blazers.
All Thunder Bay Transit passengers will experience two minutes of silence while traveling on Remembrance Day at 11 am. Thunder Bay Transit buses will stop at the nearest bus stop for that time for a moment of reflection.
